Merrymakers Toast to Mayor Stothert Postponed to 2021

Our gala is an important civic event where we recognize distinguished members of our community for their accomplishments. We have decided to postpone the 2020 event entirely until the time when we can have a proper event to honor Mayor Stothert. This will retain the original spirit of our Roasts/Toasts. It is in the best interest of all to postpone to next fall.

This decision did not come lightly, as this event is our most significant source of funds for our budget. It will create a gap in our income during a time when the seniors need us more than ever. The programs we provide are a much-needed boost to seniors isolated from outings and visitors.

We hope you can join us Nov. 18, 2021, when we will both honor Mayor Stothert and celebrate the 35th anniversary of our organization’s founding.

Please consider supporting our fundraising goal by texting TOAST20 to 243725 or visiting www.bidpal.net/toast20 to make a gift by midnight Nov. 23.

Thank you for your support!

2020 Toast is now VIRTUAL

The Merrymakers Association Toast to Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert is now fully virtual. The event will be livestreamed November 19, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

Simply navigate to www.bidpal.net/toast20 for a link to the live feed. We will start counting down prior to 7:00 p.m. and start the program promptly at 7:00 p.m. This year’s event features emcee Scott Voorhees of KFAB Radio and includes speakers such as Omaha City Councilmember Aimee Melton and Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer.

The Merrymakers Toast and Adopt-A-Home Appeal are major contributors to our annual budget. Please plan to tune in and be generous the evening of November 19. Thank you!

COVID-19

In response to this time of crisis, and given the closure of long-term care facilities to outside visitors, Merrymakers Association is:

Providing video shows to facilities for residents confined to their rooms

Providing outdoor shows where possible

Continuing to support its independently contracted professional musicians

At Merrymakers Association, our efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors in long-term care make a meaningful impact on the community. We hope to continue providing these shows during the lockdown period, and your generous donations will make that possible.

Thank you!
